Gerard’s House partners with Youth Emergency Shelters to provide specialized grief support to teens experiencing homelessness. Through structured group sessions, the program focuses on emotional and physical safety, creating a safe space for youth to explore and process their grief whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a home, or other significant life changes. We recognize that grief takes on many forms, so we welcome all types of losses. These sessions give teens the opportunity to share their stories, connect with others facing similar struggles, and allow space to understand the impact of loss on their lives. Activities such as movie nights help spark meaningful conversations and self-reflection around grief, loss and resiliency.
